ABOUT TOMATO T.T.T.
Tomato T.T.T. is a boutique hostel in Taipei, a project by Tomato Plan. Its design weaves together the historic charm of Taipei's Dadaocheng with elements of brass, rattan, and iron. "T.T.T." is short for "Tua Tiu Tiann," the Hokkien (Taiwanese) name for Dadaocheng. We've distilled a century of the neighborhood's most glorious days into your stay, hoping that in your brief sojourn, you’ll feel the city's past splendor and discover your own Taipei story.

ATTRACTIONS
Located on the banks of the Tamsui River, Dadaocheng—meaning "large open space for drying rice"—was the starting point of Taipei’s rise.
In 1885, Governor Liu Ming-chuan built Taipei Main Station nearby, making Dadaocheng the core of Taipei's development into Taiwan's largest city. The area became a hub for foreign residents, filled with Western-style buildings, international businesses, and consulates. Its vibrant European atmosphere and new ideas eventually sparked the New Culture Movement.
Dadaocheng was a melting pot of commerce and culture, with easy transportation attracting people from all walks of life. Today, it retains the charm of its historic buildings, where you can still find century-old shops selling tea, dried goods, Chinese medicine, and textiles. Now, with a focus on design and cultural innovation, this historic neighborhood is being reborn with a new spirit.
