Originally the Hotai Hotel, Tomato T.T.T. opened in 1978 during Taipei's glitzy era of grand restaurants and neon lights. Back then, entertainment wasn't just for the rich; it became accessible to everyone. We've collected a century of Taipei's history, listening to the stories of every brick and tile—from the hard-working people of old Dadaocheng to the bustling metropolis of the 1980s.
Our five room themes—Gilded Age, Chifeng Ironwork, Time Stands Still, Vinyl Era, and Carved in Wood—are our tribute to this history. Through the eyes of modern Taiwanese designers, we want to share the spirit of Dadaocheng with travelers worldwide, inviting you to feel its past glory and present-day charm.

Dihua Street is known for its diverse architecture, but none are more striking than the magnificent Baroque-style buildings, which showcase the street's prosperous past. Our Gilded Age room theme revives this era with Baroque-style sofas, antique brass screens, metallic light-and-shadow clocks, and solid wood vanities, recreating Dadaocheng's vintage-meets-modern glamour.

Chifeng Street, once a hub for ironworks, has seen its car parts industry fade, yet remnants of its past still coexist with trendy artisan shops. Our Chifeng Ironwork room theme pays homage to this history. We've chosen pieces by Taiwanese designers—an iron dining table, garden stools, a deer ornament, and lamps—to celebrate the hardworking spirit that took Taiwanese people from humble beginnings to prosperity.
This modern, industrial space, with its blend of warm wood and sleek black metal, shows the harmony of logic and emotion. A journey, like life itself, is a mix of both. Sometimes it's fast-paced; other times, it's okay to just slow down. Let this balance of strength and softness set the tone for your day.

For centuries, bamboo weaving has been a key part of Eastern culture. Its craft flourished in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial era, reaching its peak in the 1980s when bamboo furniture, lamps, tea boxes, and birdcages were mass-produced for export.
This room is a tribute to that era. We've filled it with pieces by Taiwanese designers, like a woven bamboo floor lamp, pendant lights, and rattan chairs, to showcase Oriental aesthetics. As you relax here, we hope you'll feel a connection to Dadaocheng's prosperous past in bamboo craftsmanship.

The 1960s were the golden age of vinyl records, and for Dadaocheng, it was a dazzling era of theaters, nightclubs, and endless nightlife. Our room theme, The Vinyl Era, is a tribute to that time. We've chosen a vinyl record clock, a galaxy lamp, and a vintage American-style coffee table to create a retro-modern space that transports you back in time. Let this old-school aesthetic guide you through the galaxy of the past.

During the Japanese colonial era, Dadaocheng Wharf's convenient transport and its proximity to the Shuanglian train station (on the old Tamsui railway line) made it a major hub for lumber. Even today, the area is home to over 20 shops for woodworking, carving, turning, and hardware.
Our Carved in Wood room theme celebrates this history. We’ve chosen designer pieces like a solid wood bench, a sleek desk, a woven bamboo pendant lamp, and a rotating tree-shaped coat rack. These wooden furnishings bring warmth and texture to the space, creating a clean, simple, and comfortable atmosphere.
Our Facilities
We believe travel is part of life, so we've designed our spaces to feel like home. Unlike a large hotel with high-end business facilities, we focus on providing comfortable, everyday amenities to meet the needs of every traveler.
Each room at Tomato T.T.T. features a plush American Royalty mattress, an LG washer-dryer, co-branded Eye Candle toiletries, and a Panasonic multi-functional air circulator and heater. In our common area, you'll find a temperature-controlled water dispenser and a microwave for added convenience.
For long-term travelers, we recommend our Deluxe Double Room. The spacious room offers large windows with views of red brick buildings and green trees, making your stay even more relaxing and enjoyable.
